The Language of Dots & Dashes

Morse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be directly understood by a skilled listener or observer without special equipment.

Timing is Everything

The structure of Morse code is based on precise timing. A "dah" (dash) is three times as long as a "dit" (dot). The space between parts of the same letter is one dit, between letters is three dits, and between words is seven dits.
